Saceem

Saceem will build a project of great strategic value: the WTC Punta de Este Free Zone

Saceem is in charge of carrying out the project that includes the execution of the World Trade Center Free Zone building, which is the first development to be a free zone in the department of Maldonado.

It is located on the Punta del Este peninsula, on the corner of Gorlero and 23 streets. It is intended for office use and has two basements and 27 floors, with a total construction area of 27,195m2.

It is the first building in Punta del Este with LEED certification. The base plan area is approximately 1,320m2, occupying the entire land, and approximately 730m2 will have the typical floors in which the tower is developed.

From the basement to the third floor inclusive, parking sectors will mainly be located. The building also has a floor for a Multipurpose Room and from the sixth floor onwards the office sector is developed, connected by a total of five high-speed elevators.

The structure will be made of slabs without beams on cylindrical pillars. All structural elements will be made of reinforced concrete. For this, 10,500m3 of concrete and 1,200 tons of iron will be used. To complete this work, it is expected to use 400,000 man hours. The exterior façade will have a base finished in perforated aluminum panels, and from the fifth floor onwards, the development of the tower will resemble an ellipse. The enclosure will be made up of what is called a glass “curtain wall”.

The project is intended to open the door for many companies to activate their presence in Punta del Este, turning that destination into a safe place to work and establish themselves.

The work has an estimated duration of 28 months. The first months of work will be framed in the excavation tasks of the subsoil sector, perimeter retaining walls, the foundation of direct bases, pillars and slabs.
