High Voltage Lines – Melo – Tacuarembó

High Voltage Lines – Melo – Tacuarembó

Project Description:

Construction of the high voltage line (500 kV) that connects the substation of the National Administration of Electric Power Plants and Transmissions (UTE) in Melo with the Tacuarembó substation.
Saceem executed the 214 km of the high voltage line, 557 500 kV Towers and 34 150 kV Towers, Tower Assembly, Cable Laying (three conductors, 2 conventional guard cables, one of them OPGW) and Accessories Assembly .
The project involved the introduction of an important construction technological innovation in the region by executing pile foundations with widened bases, aiming to reduce the environmental impact.
With the purpose of minimizing soil movement and taking care of the environment, Saceem acquired the MAIT HR130 drilling machine; a piece of equipment that allows the task to be carried out with greater precision and efficiency, reducing concrete consumption per tower and the impact of excavations.
Additionally, Saceem was in charge of assembling the towers and laying the conductors, the guard cable and the communications cable.
With the construction of this new transmission line designed by UTE and led by Terna, we contribute to the development of the closure of a 500 kV ring that facilitates the connection of new renewable energy generation projects, reinforcing the country's electrical grid.
